Can't take my eyes off Tim

Today I was magically inspired by the power of love. It's still February so I decided to make a Tim video for this incredible month of love.

I think I use repeated pics, I don't remenber...anyway, Tim always makes me happy *love* The song is called 'Can't take my eyes off you' by ...errr, I lost the name, promise I'll find it.

Changing the topic, I was looking for funny pics in google and I found a very cool website 'www.nataliedee.com'
Here it is some of her work

This one reminds me myself

hehehe...I want to wear my Tim hoodie right now

I'm going to be like this if I continue eating a lot of watermelon

LOL

Btw, yesterday with some members of the KeanePeru fanclub, we went to a park with lots of water fountains 'Circuito Mágico del Agua'. We had fun and at the end I was totally sweat.

a lovely week...

First of all, we're going to start with this made my daisy68:

Now, gear up yourself and enter Keane's website!!! (http://www.keanemusic.com/)
Yes, it's a note from Tim and here it is too

15.2.08

After three weeks of working on songs in Susses, we're now in Paris recording. All sounding energised, weird, new and exciting. Can't sleep- brain racing with thoughts about synthesiser parts and drum fills. This does not bode well. Legendary American producer and musical genius Jon Brion arrived yesterday to contribute his whirlwind of crazy ideas, pushing us even further out of our comfort zone than we've already pushed ourselves. Learning a lot of him, which I always love.

Fun night out with the Puppini Sisters (in town playing a song) on Monday.
Many mojitos consumed, and much nonsensical fat-chewing. Lovely people. They sprang a gorgeus a capella rendition of Everybody's Changing on us, raising raucous applause from everyone in the crowded bar. Barmen in white lab coats still merrily serving us champagne at 3am. What a fine city.

Today we're going to raid the store for timpanis. For Tom to sing into.

Tim

-------------

Geee!!! They're recording!!! I'm glad for the three of them. I'd like to hear the Puppini Sisters' cover of EC. I bet it sounded good.
ohh mojitos! I want one, please lol

Before leaving, yesterday Valentine's day was a good day. It was also my parents' wedding anniversary. They celebrated their 21st so our original idea was to go to a restaurant but when we went out it knocked me for six that every restaurant was very crowded. At a loose end about the situation, we bought a roast chicken and took it to home. We enjoyed it a lot and listened to Keane =D

I <3 Timmy!

How did I know Keane? My story could be embarrasing now. All this madness started in the end of 2004. At that time, Evelyn, my friend of school, listened a lot to Somewhere Only We Know. The song was everywhere, in the radio, on TV and in my friend's mouth of course. She sang it a lot that I was starting to hate it.
But one day, I paid attention to the video and analized the lyrics of the song.
Hence, I inmediately had fallen in love with the band.
Then, I watched TITLT video. It was from a local music channel which was horrible cos all genres of music were mixed there, from cumbia to rock. So I turned on the TV and Tom's face appeared and I didn't believe Keane was in that channel. I didn't understand the lyrics but the melody of the song touched my heart. At that time, I wasn't a proper fan as I'm now but I remenber I told myself 'that neck movement must hurt for the pianist'. I must admit Tom impressed me at first because of his beautiful voice and because he was in all the scenes.
I didn't think it twice and went to buy their album. I was very curious to know how the other songs were. Then when I searched more information about them on Internet, Tim Rice-Oxley stayed in my mind. 'He's the songwriter of such excellent songs...ohh and they only use a piano sound plus drums!' I said.
'Hopes and Fears' was always in my cd player (and still it is). I didn't have Internet at home but I did everything to go to a cyber and search for pics and information. The first website I saw was www.keane.at. In 2006, I registered to the official board and in 2007 I convinced my mum to have Internet at home with the excuse of 'I'm in third year of college and Internet is a useful tool for my homeworks and to improve my English...and the tesis is coming eh'. She accepted and here I am.
For me 2007 was the best year of my life cos I've met such incredible friends from different parts of the world.
In fact, I'm proud of being a fan of this band for the following reasons:
- their music has a lot of meaning and takes me to a magic place I want to stay forever.
- their music has helped and still help me a lot when I'm in difficult situations.
- they're a band who is different from the others. Apart from being original with the piano, they're humble, worry about the world issues and show friendship between each other like brothers.
- and finally because the place they're now it was due to the effort and sacrifices they made.
I love them!

Tim Q&A!!!

From km.com....

TIM ANSWERS YOUR QUESTIONS
06.02.08 02.29.pm
Mr Rice-Oxley faces your 'Ask Keane' queries

Yes, we're taking a break from the YouTube videos today to bring you something even more exciting than a man strumming 'Crystal Ball' at the seaside. Tim has very kindly taken a break from working on the third Keane album to respond to the latest batch of questions which you folks sent in via the website. Thanks to everyone for sending in questions and to Tim for answering them.

"My question is this: There're some bands that have a clear objective (like does Bono with U2 for example)...With your music, in general do you have an aim? Why do you do music?"
JiMe from Argentina
Tim replies: That's a big question. I love writing songs because it enables me to express thoughts and ideas and feelings that I seem to be incapable of expressing in any other way. I think the same is true of the band as a whole - when we play together we seem to be able to say something more powerful than any of us could say as individuals. It's a magical thing about being in a band. So that in itself is enough really. However, we've always admired people who consciously use their music to deliver a message of some sort. There are many great examples, from the protest songs of the 60s to the rave music of the 90s. Over the last few years we've become better at deliberately articulating specific ideas in our songs - 'Is It Any Wonder?' for example, or 'A Bad Dream', or even something like 'Atlantic'. That's really exciting for us. You have to be careful not to let the process become too contrived, or you'll lose the soul of the music. But for me probably the best thing about being in a band is hearing that one of our songs has had some kind of profound impact on someone, especially when it's someone on the other side of the world who speaks a different language and has a completely different experience of life. I can't explain how that works, but it's an incredible feeling and I suppose that's why we "do music".

"In your songs, you talk a lot about getting older. Is there a reason for the similar topic among the songs, or does it just happen that this is?"
Rachel
Tim replies: I constantly have the feeling that I'm trying to catch up, that I'm running late for something very important in my life. I think that's partly because it took us so long to get any recognition as a band. We made a lot of sacrifices in our twenties in order to keep the band together, and so now we have the opportunities we have I constantly feel that I need to do as much as possible to make up for lost time, and that time is always moving too fast for me. I'm sure it's a pretty common sensation. Plus I feel very youthful and I live in fear of settling in some kind of resigned lethargy as I get older. I hope I'll be one of those mischievous old people who always acts like a teenager, and my kids will dread bringing their kids to see me because I teach them rude words and make them listen to old fuddy-duddy music (Aphex Twin, Radiohead, etc) at deafening volumes.

"Who is James Sanger? How did he get a writing credit on such songs as 'Bedshaped' and 'This is the Last Time'?"
Kara
Tim replies: It's a long story, and judging from the current discussion on the forum, one that's long overdue to be cleared up! James is what's known as a programmer - someone who specialises in adding interesting parts of one sort or another (usually beats and synth parts) to a recording. Back in 2000, before we had a record deal, we worked on some songs with a producer called Mark Wallis. If I remember rightly Mark was working on another project at the time, and had asked James to help out on that project.

Anyway, a few months later James came down to see us while we were doing our weekly rehearsal at Backstreet Studios on Holloway Road. He had recently bought a farmhouse in France with a view to building a studio there, and he asked us if we wanted to spend some time there recording. We were feeling pretty desperate at the time so it was a really exciting offer. We had agreed all this with him when we were a four piece guitar band, but a few days before we went out to France, Dominic (our guitarist) decided to leave the band. I remember we were very nervous about telling James because we thought he might change his mind about working with us, but we persuaded him
that it would be really fun to make a more electronic album, which was more his area of expertise anyway.

James knew we didn't have any money to pay for his time or the use of his studio so we cut a deal with him whereby we agreed to give him a percentage of the publishing royalties from any resulting recordings if they were released commercially. He would also receive a reduced royalty if the songs we worked on were released in a different form - ie not the versions we recorded with him in France. At the time we'd never made a single penny from any royalties, so it all seemed like a pretty good deal! Publishing royalties are the royalties paid to the writers of a song, and if you get a cut of the royalty it means you get credited as a songwriter. We worked on four of the 'Hope And Fears' songs at James's place in France, hence he is credited as a songwriter on those songs, even though they were all already completely written before we worked with him, and even though the versions on the record are massively different from the versions we did with him.

James helped us out immensely by giving us the use of his studio and equipment, and also by teaching us how to record music using a computer. The latter has been especially useful over the years, enabling us to record demos at home. We never released any of the recordings we made in France, but the four songs from H&F did include some parts that we wrote and recorded while at James' studio. They also include a few bits of programming that James actually did himself - eg the great drum loop that's tucked in under Richard's drums in 'Sunshine', that big fat kick drum on 'She Has No Time', and the cool bass sound in the middle eight of 'This Is The Last Time'.

Sadly James does tend to pop up on TV every few months claiming to have written lots of songs for us, invented the Keane sound, kicked Dom out of the band, or whatever, but I think that's just something you have to put up with when you have a bit of success! He helped us out when we needed a boost, and we'll always be grateful for that.

I told you it was a long story!

"Dear Tim. Can you tell me who is that person talking at the end of the song 'The Iron Sea' and what is he saying??"
Sharon-From Ecuador
Tim replies: Er, I'm pretty sure it's me. I remember listening to the individual track when I edited together the Magic Shop version of 'The Iron Sea', but I don't think you can really hear what I'm saying. At one point you can hear me singing a little Mellotron line from the end of 'Airbag' by Radiohead though.....there's a geeky piece of trivia if ever there was one!

"Tim - I've watched so many live videos of you guys and you get so into playing. It's like you lose yourself in the music. How does that feel?"
Yire
Tim replies: It feels deeply surreal. I think maybe I have to lose myself in the music because I'd be too terrified to play otherwise. If I ever thought about the fact that there are thousands of people watching me play, I'd probably freak out completely.

"Hi. There's a song of your last album that i like very much Atlantic. Everyday i saw the video clip of this music but i can't understand it very well. I really wanna know what's the true message you guys want to pass for us. Could you solve this problem for me? Thank you."
Nilo Daniel
Tim replies: You'd really need to ask Irvine Welsh, as he wrote and directed the video. I felt that he was picking up on the "fear of dying alone" aspect of the song. For me, the video is about mortality, about clinging on to worldly things even as the shadow of death creeps towards us. So a jolly little number.... but then you wouldn't expect anything else from Irvine. The man's a genius.

"Tim, why do you never talk on stage? Even Brendan Benson had to introduce himself and YOU although you were the host at the War Child gig in London."
Lena
Tim replies: I don't like the sound of my voice.

"Hi Tim! I recently noticed that when you played 'We Might As Well Be Strangers' live, which is one of my favourite songs, you played it half a tone higher than on 'Hopes & Fears'. Is there any particular reason why you do it this way for gigs?"
Martin
Tim replies: The verses of the song are quite low for Tom's vocal range. On the record that gives them a nice intimacy, but when we came to play it live it felt like the verses were getting lost. Putting the song up a key meant Tom could project the melody a bit more, which is pretty crucial when you're trying to fill a big venue with delicate emotions.

"Hi Tim. Do you like the cover of your song 'Everybody's Changing' by Lily Allen?"
Cindy, Colombia
Tim replies: I love it. I find it very flattering when anyone covers one of our songs, but I particularly like Lily's cover. It's full of energy and really gives a new slant to the song. We played it in that sort of reggae/bluebeat style when we played it with her at the War Child show in November, and we all really enjoyed playing in a different style. It was quite refreshing for us as musicians just to do something different.

"Tim, in your opinion, which is the best song that you composed?"
Gabriela Kozakievich, from Argentina
Tim replies: I think probably 'Atlantic'. Or possibly 'Leaving So Soon?' Tom's convinced that the new songs we're working on are better than anything we've done before, so hopefully one of those is the best I've ever written.....I'll let you be the judge of that...!

"Have you ever felt like composing harder music and dressing up like KISS??"
Fatima
Tim replies: I wouldn't mind up a bit more dressing up I must admit. Putting on any sort of mask, real or imaginary, is a good way of freeing yourself up to do new things that you wouldn't normally do. As far as harder music goes, I always feel like I'm the only person on the planet who didn't go through some sort of hard rock/heavy metal phase as a teenager. I feel kind of embarrassed about it actually, as I feel I should be able to enthuse about Iron Maiden and Kiss an so on. I do like a good rock song, but I can't be doing with those interminable guitar solos where the notes get faster and faster and higher and higher. It's hard to take most rock music seriously once you've watched This Is Spinal Tap.

I was getting nervous but today it finally has been posted *woot*
I have to admit I got terribly depressed when Tim mentioned the word 'kids' I don't like Jayne T_T *tears* buuuu
Coming back to the topic, I have the same feeling as Tim about getting older. I don't want to grow up. I feel I've been the same through all my years of life so when I'll be old I'd still do my headbanging while listening to IIAW? lol

As for The Iron Sea, I always thought it was Tom's voice...I gotta listen to 'Atlantic' over and over again...and why Tim doesn't like his voice? it's beautiful, he has a golden throat. I love his voice, laughing, talking, singing, etc.

Definitely, I'm more relaxed now...this q&a made my day! I'm happy!
I hope he answers my question next time.

WAAA!!! I'M HAPPY, VERY HAPPY!!! I'VE GOT MY KEANE LIVE DVD!!!
Yes, yesterday it was my aunt's brithday. I was in the party saying cheers for her when suddenly the phone rang. It was the shop assistant who told me the dvd had arrived. Of course I asked her 'Can I go for it right now?' and she said Yes
It was 9pm and I was walking fast in the street. When I arrived at the music store, a man reached the dvd for me...I couldn't grab it...my hands were shaking. When I finally got relaxed, I paid (S/10 more cos the man said prices had risen up)and went out of the store jumping and with a big smile on my face. I arrived at the party again and everyone looked at me as if they were saying *this girl doesn't mind this ocassion* In my bedroom, I opened the dvd and started drooling over the booklet <3The iron sea
There are lots of Tim close-ups (in special of his hands, sadly with the wedding ring...and I can see his wristband, I have one too wooo)
It appears Ant shaking hands with Tom. (Ant resembles to Tim *dribble*)
Richard puts his drumstick up like Harry Potter with his wand (cool!)

Everybody's changing
Tim playing passionately and doing a soft but cute headbanging.

Put it behind you
I can see Tim's sexy back. He moves his legs a lot and jumps plus some headbanging. Actually, I'm trying to practise those kinds of movements...I like them.
As for Tom, what it amuses me is his intensity of singing. Brilliant voice!
Oh and when Tim claps...what a cute guy! I'd clap all day for him
Backing vocals from Tim and Rich in the 'hold on, hold on to'part are amazing.

Nothing in my way
Oh Jesus! At the beginning, we have more headbanging from Tim plus some sexy movements. Artistically, I love the background...the fishes (or misils)and all that stuff.
I noticed Tom points at every second whe he sings that song. He puts a lot of passion.
Backing vocals from Tim and Rich were awesome as always but I couldn't hear them as clear as they were in the Pinkpop festival 2006.
Again Rich and his wand pointing to the front. Expelliarmus!

We might as well be strangers
The lighting is extraordinary in this song. It shows the power of the rythmn.
Tom is concentrated...he closes his eyes during this song.
Ohh and Tim gives a sexy look in the angle 2 option *dribble*

Bend and Break
Omg!!!What legs, Tim! What pouts, Tim!, What a back!
In the 'bitter and hardened heart part (angle 2 option)Tim moves a lot...it's impressive! he's so sexy and talented. Again we have MORE headbanging.
In the 'I'll meet you on the other side' you can see Tim's sweat falling over the piano.

Can't stop now
I love that version, a little bit faster but cool.
It was lovely to see Tom grabbing hands of some fans. A special detail coming from him.
In the 'I've got troubles of my own' part you can see more Tim's sweat coming from his face falling over the piano. It's incredible how he knows the exact place of each key when he plays without watching them.
Richard drumming is amazing in this song.
Tim againg moving backwards and forwards...waaaa
The 'for no one' part followed by the piano and with the tambourine (or whatever is called)by Richard is a great idea. It turned the song into a very special one.
awww and 'the motion keeps my heart running' part sang by the three of them is lovely.

Tim claps again and waves his hand...waaa I want to meet this man!!!
He puts his hands over his head as he can't believe what it's happening. 'I'm so glad we're recording this show forever!' says Tom.

Try again
The softness of that song melts me down, in special the way Tim plays it.
In the 'will lay down mine' part Tim closes his eyes...awww *love*
'God I wish you could see me now' waaa Tim is still with the eyes closed butt his time moving his head softly as if he's thinking in someone (ohhh depression comes to me once more)
I had the feeling when Tom plays the upright piano, he's trying to imitate Tim's movements. I'm glad he follows my Timmeh.

Ohhh...the three of them are walking along the ego-ramp (or whatever it's called)
Cool...they are like models *dribble* and Tim with his sweaty shirt and so shy.
'Can you please give a warm welcome to my very great friends Tim and Richard?'says Tom (at least that's what I understand lol, my English is terrible)'Yes! Kisses too' is my answer to Tom in front of my TV

Your eyes open
Tim claps and taps on his leg softly with his hand following Tom's rythmn.
ohhh I must watch again Tim's facial gestures while he's doing the backing vocals.
Tim's smile at the end...awww

The frog prince
Tom playing the guitar plus Tim playing the keyboards was a extremely good combination.
This song creates a magical atmosphere...I love it

Hamburg song
In two words: beautiful and excellent!
Tim strikes a thinking-pose...oh no the wedding ring again!

Fly to me
My favourite and Tim's favourite song too. It's so powerful! This song always makes me cry. I wonder if my love will fly to him someday T-T *tears*

Leaving so soon?
They walk fast to the main stage wooo angle 2 option *dribble*
Richard's drumming was super!!
Tom lives the song and start pointing everyone at every verse lol
Ohh and his Dunlops have lots of close-ups here
angle 2 option: you can see Tim's so close during a long time!
Another good things: Tim's leg and head, his Dunlops, backing vocals (Tim and Rich), Tom's voice and Richard's magical wand.

This is the last time
Yes, there was a mistake coming from Tom in the lyrics but who cares? it was fab for me.
angle 2 option: you can see Tom singing to Tim.
Tim stretches out during this song a lot and does sudden movements with the arms...I'm afraid that hurts.
I love how Tim gets crazy at the end of the song hiting the piano.

A bad dream
Neil Hannon reading the poem out live is pretty cool, even though he says 'that tumult in the clouds' instead of 'this tumult in the clouds'(I learnt by heart that beautiful poem)
angle 2 option: you can see Tim a lot.
Tim, Tom and Rich looking at each other like brothers...awww
waaaa and Tim singing 'guess I'm not the fighting kind' waaa he shakes his head.
I love the end of the song plus the lighting.

Somewhere only we know
There's always much passion in this song by Tim when he plays it. Tim playing with one hand waving it in the air.
angle 2 option: ohhhh...I'm speechless
Tim kicking in the air *oops* *love*
It's always lovely to see the crowds singing along, I wish I had been there.

Is it any wonder?
Tim moving his hand in the air and dancing. More headbanging.
Rich's drumming is awesome at the beginning.
Tom lives the song a lot 'or maybe it's a puzzle I don't understand'(with a puzzled face)
angle 2 option: Woahhh he stretches out!!

Broken Toy
Tom was alone at this part and his voice was famazing.

Atlantic
More close-ups.
Richard's drumming always brilliant and Tim always mesmerizing.
angle 2 option: his big hands control the piano.
'UUU AAA UUU AAA I need a place...' that part killed me. I love Tim's voice there.
'and all the world is broken' look at Tim's face!!!! *yikes*

Crystal Ball
angle 2 option: more action! yay
The lighting is good and the confetti at the end *joy*
ohhh another crazy end but cool.
A confetti falls near Tom's mouth lol
Tim plays with some confetti and claps like a child... awww

Bedshaped
'The rainy roads of London town' aww when Tom sings that I figure him out saying 'the rainy roads of Lima town'*giggle*
angle 2 option: Tim stands up and sits down, stands up and sits down and so on....

At the end , the give each other a group hug...awww

Short film
Tim saying: yeees! awww
You can see TTR's dressing room and listen to Tyderian as a background.
Also look Tom's arrival in an elegant car.
wooow the O2 is really BIG! ENORMOUS!
'Is that all the lights we've got Rob?' says Tom.
Atlantic as a background...cool!
Notes: 'Today's gig is being filmed! (NO SH*T SHERLOCK!)
awww... a lovely moment when the three of them are playing 'A bad dream'
Tom says to Tim: 'Good luck Timmy!'
Rich says to Tom: 'Come along'
Soundcheck
OMG! Tim! and Ant! who's who? lol
Tom singing a different version of 'Try Again': 'God I wish you could see me now, see me now, SEE ME NOW!uuuuuuuuUUUUU!
Tom says: 'We're ready to go, YES WE ARE!'
Tim was serious during the IIAW?'s soundcheck.
Tom singing at the end: 'feel betrayed....E E E! Thank you very much *something else I don't undertand* see ya later soon!'

Life visuals
A bad dream: A weird dance. I think it means when you think you're with someone. You trust this person but when you have to face difficult situations you realise this person never was on your side and that you were alone all the time. Also at the end, I think couples wear that things on the face (promise I'll find the word in English) cos they're afraid to get in love.
Is it any wonder?: Awww the soldiers....they're cute. Then the bombs and misils just represent some wars there are in other parts of the world. It's a pity we live in a world like this.
Atlantic: I love it! That's perfect to represent the song. First the tear running over the cheek, then the eye, the world (I think),a river, some colourful points...perfect, perfect!!!

That's all about the dvd.
I'm bad at writing I know...oh well

Dan broke up with his gf!!!

Love is over for the young actor Daniel Radcliffe, well-known as Harry Potter, and the actress Laura O'Toole. The couple finished their relationship with a mutual agreement, according to a website.

"Daniel and I are still good friends. But we have to be realistic", said O'Toole to the News of the World.
The young couple met each other the last year during some rehearsal for the play 'Equus' in London, where they appeared naked in a controversial scene. Laura and Daniel participated until May 2007 in the play 'Equus', in which Radcliffe played a role of a boy obsessed with horses. Laura had the girlfriend's role, though she was the substitute of the main actress. Yet when the performance ended, the couple was seen in different places such as near Daniel's house.

Since Daniel has become an adult, Radcliffe has turned into one of the most coveted british actors. His fortune is around 30 millions of euros.

Wohoo!! I never liked her. Dan deserves a good girl such as *cough...the owner of this blog...cough*

What it surprises me is that I found this article in a very serious local radio from Peru called RPP. They aren't accostumed to publish gossip news. They more political so it's kinda weird.

On the other hand, I'm so excited. Not only for this piece of news...lol It's because I've seen more pics about the next movie 'Harry Potter and the half blood prince' which will be out in November 21st. At the same time I'm getting really nervous and anxious. I'm waiting for my Keane live dvd (since Monday 21st) and Tim's Q&A!!!!!! Waaaa I wonder if he answered one of my silly questions...yes, I have to admit it: being in love makes you lose your brain. Wanna try? just watch this pic

Chicken out!

From km.com (I know it's old news...I just want to keep this blog updated =D )

CHICKEN OUT!

08.01.08 11.09.am

Tim writes about the Chicken Out! campaign Happy new year everyone.

We're gearing up to start work in the studio next week, which is very exciting. Everyone's feeling great and the songs are coming together nicely. In the meantime, here's a thought for the day. The three of us all have very strong feelings about animal welfare, and also about the ethics of sourcing and buying food generally. Someone I've found very inspirational because of his relentless campaigning in this area is Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, so we're pleased to be lending our support to his excellent Chicken Out! campaign. Maybe some of you saw the first episode of Hugh's TV show about battery-farming yesterday (it will be continued tonight and tomorrow). If you did I hope you'll agree that it was both deeply disturbing and inspiring. If you agree with Hugh, and with us, that rearing animals in this way should be illegal - rather than being the standard practice of supermarket-supplying farmers - then please sign up for the Chicken Out! campaign by clicking the banner below. We can also make a statement - and force an improvement in rearing practices - by changing the way we buy food (again, in this case chickens). Buy free range, preferably organic, chickens rather than cheap battery-farmed animals, and let retailers know that food sourced in such a brutal way does not appeal to shoppers in 2008. See you all soon. 2008 should be a great year.

Good campaign!!! Apart from being handsome he's intelligent and worries about the world issues. I support this too although I'm not from UK...lol but certainly it's a problematic that happens here too. It's in the hands of shoppers where there is their own health care.

Waiting for Tim's Q&A....
