CHECK OUT HOPES AND FEARS AT ISLAND 50 SITE

From KM.com,

As you probably know by now, Keane's label, Island Records, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. Keane's first album, Hopes and Fears, has been chosen from the label's huge back catalogue as one of Island's 50 best albums, in celebration of their anniversary. There is a section at island50.com dedicated to the album which gives the opportunity for fans of the album to write their own review and upload photos.

Each week the site and its newsletter will be giving an Island 50 t-shirt to the lucky reader who has added the most appropriate album/gig review and/or image to the website. And each month the best of those winners will also receive a copy of 'Keep on Running: the Story of Island Records'.

Head over to the site now to check it all out and represent the Keane massive!

TIM AT RECORD STORE DAY

A brief comment appeared here but you can read it below.

Tim Rice-Oxley (KEANE)

“Growing up in the UK I’ve loved and lost a series of great independent record stores over the last twenty years. These days I go into David’s Music in Letchworth whenever I can, and always leave with a swag bag full of vinyl and CDs. I especially love flipping through endless boxes of musty second-hand vinyl, picking out things I’d never have gone looking for. I’ve discovered loads of incredible music that way. It’s a way of shopping for records that is discouraged by the layout of huge chain record stores and totally denied by the dreaded supermarkets. So here’s to the indie stores – beacons of diversity, discovery and passion and in an ever more homogenised world. ”

CHANNEL BEE VIDEO CHAT AND MTV BLOGS

From KM.com,

Here are a couple of Keane things to keep you going over Easter - click here to check out a very funny video interview which the band did with Channel Bee at Abbey Road and here to read Tim's South American tour blog on MTV's website.

Tim's South America Tour Diary - Day 1

(Tuesday, February 24th 2009)

We arrived in Guadalajara last night. My hotel room feels like a small chapel, which gave me the creeps as I lay half-awake in jetlagged confusion at 4am. Anyway, woke up this morning to gorgeous sunshine and a general sense of being very excited about the tour.
It's a day off so after a bit of huevos motulenos (eggs and salsa and stuff) I headed into town with some of the crew guys. Found an indoor market where we marvel at the piles of brains, stomachs and goats' heads on offer before heading upstairs for tacos.
Spent the afternoon by the pool getting sunburned.

THURSDAY'S WEBCAST IN 6D!

From KM.com,

We're pleased to announce that km.com's technology boffins have discovered a way to watch Thursday's 3D webcast in 6D - which is twice as good as the standard 3D experience. To achieve full 6D, it transpires you must simply wear two pairs of 3D glasses at the same time.
Speaking to km.com, our Head of Extra Dimensions, Eric Flipworth, told us, "These additional three dimensions of viewing will enable Keane fans to watch tomorrow's webcast in awe-inspiring levels of detail, realisticness and high-dimensionality. Today is a very special day for everyone involved in the project."

YOU IN YOUR 3D GLASSES

From KM.com,

Big thanks to all of you who've sent in pictures of yourselves wearing your 3D glasses. We've put 48 of them together to make one picture. If you'd like to see a bigger version, then click the image below:

I thought to post the pic above because my dog appears on it. Looks so cute. It is the one below in black and white :P
