V FESTIVAL'S LIVE BLOG DAY 2 (JUST ABOUT TIM)

From KM.com,

11.58am: A new day deserves a new page...

1.36pm: And here's Tim, struggling to get a mobile phone signal

3.01pm: Tim is currently doing an interview for Yamaha's website. So we're trying to type this very quietly...

3.23pm: Andrew and Chris are here to do their podcast interview - the one you guys asked the questions for:

The fellas, chatting with some journalists outside the dressing room

The band get ready for their podcast video interview

7.13pm: We're just back from the acoustic Absolute show, which was really fun. It was in a tipi in Absolute radio's hospitality area and the crowd got *so* into it that the band ended up doing an extra song (they did The Lovers Are Losing, Spiralling, Everybody's Changing and a bonus Somewhere Only We Know). Here are some pics...

8.05pm: Oh, by the way - check this out, the all-new Keane mug, coming to the online store tomorrow...

8.45pm: The band are all now warming up. They just ran through Here Comes The Sun, which we've not heard them play before. Sounded grand. But that's not the one Tom was practicing for tonight.

9.41pm: Here are some pics from the show so far. Cracking atmosphere out there. "Let me tell you, this is an immense feeling standing on this stage in front of you people tonight," says Tom, just before This Is The Last Time.

10.13pm: They're playing Perfect Symmetry as we type this. Still our favourite on the album. Such a tune.

10.57pm: We're on our way home now, as are the band. Tim definitely spoke for the others when he told us tonight was "amazing". Thanks again for all your emails and comments - they've been great to read. Head back to km.com this week for more pics and vids from this weekend. And with that, we'll bid you a weary but happy goodnight.

V FESTIVAL'S LIVE BLOG (JUST ABOUT TIM)

From KM.com,

10.03am: Good morning! Welcome to the V Festival liveblog, which will be giving you all the behind-the-scenes info from Keane's weekend at one of the UK's biggest festivals, where they're headlining the 4Music stage. We're about to set off to west London to meet the tourbus at 12.45pm. From there we'll whizz up to Staffordshire with the band for the first leg of the show.

12.42pm: We're at the coach pick up point, waiting with Beth, Colin, Jesse and Keane's manager Adam for the tourbus to arrive. Tim's on the bus already, Tom should be here any sec - in fact, here he is! - and we're meeting Rich at the site.

1.33pm: So, we're cruising along the motorway on our way up to Staffordshire. Tom is having a lie down, Tim is chilling in the little booth on the top deck at the front of the bus, Colin is working and Jesse and Beth are settling down into the main lounge to watch Mirrors (it looks a bit scary). Here are some pics...

2.48pm: Luke's sent us a drawing of Tim, drawn by Annette Hutchins. Pretty good, eh?

3.08pm: Right, here's a role reversal: Tim has a question for you folks. He's just finished his book (The Alchemist - "8/10") and he'd like to know what you'd suggest he reads his next. Get those suggestion in to ontour@keanemusic.com (thanks for all of your weather reports, by the way - it does seem the planet is mostly sunny today)

3.19pm: (Um, this should be working now). Here's that video we promised. We kept it very short, because this wi-fi is pretty darn slow (not that we're complaining - it's on a moving vehicle!) Tim at the beginning!

3.41pm: Right, we've just read out a list of literally dozens of your book suggestions to Tim - he says a big thanks to you all for sending them in. These are the two he's chosen to explore further:

'The monk who sold his ferrari' by Robin S.Sharma (suggested by Alica and Jo)
Tim: With a title like that, it's got to be good!

Kafka On The Shore' By Haruki Murakami.
Excellent writer. Unforgetable book. A book made for Tim. For sure. (suggested by Paula)
Tim: Ah, Colin suggested this one too. I'll have to give it a go.

4.49pm: A few of you have been asking for pics of Colin and Beth. Here they are - downstairs on the bus. Apparently we're only ten minutes from the site...

5.41pm: OK, here are some pictures, taken on the way in and in the dressing room / sauna (happily, Tim just got the air-con working - as Tom said, he's "found his cooling in life". Huzzah!)

6.06pm: The band are in the dressing room deciding tonight's setlist. Richard arrived just after we took the picture - looking very cheery.

6.39pm: We didn't go for a wander in the end, we went to catering with the band to get some grub. It was, as these things always seem to be, very nice. We had lamb shank, as did Tim, while Richard had veggie salad and Tom had steak and ale pie. Pudding was either sticky toffee pudding or an excedingly lovely redcurrant tart. Yum. Here's a pic of Tim having a game of table football on the way back to the dressing room afterwards...

A calm, assured performance from Mr Rice-Oxley. Now we really are going to take some pics of the site...

8.03pm: The wi-fi out here by the dressing rooms is getting progressively worse, which is a bit worrying. But here are some pictures from the Keane cabin just now. They are both quite arty.

Arty because because it's in black and white and crops off the top of Tim's head:

8.31pm: Not long until performance time now (and apparently it takes 15-20 minutes to get from the dressing rooms to the stage itself), so the band are in the dressing room, warming up on their instruments. Or, at least, on each other's instruments - with Tim currently on bass and Jesse on drums, together conjuring a mighty groove.

And Tim's T-shirt just hung out...

8.57pm: Three minutes until the band head to the stage, so we'd better be quick posting these...

11.10pm: And we're back in our cosy little wi-fi spot by the dressing rooms (Oasis behind us, Snow Patrol to our right). Here are the long overdue pics from the show:

11.57pm: Hey folks. We're back on the bus, where Adam, Tom and Jesse are talking about food, particularly the question of whether fruit works in salad (no, it does not - with the obvious exception of tomato). Anyway, Lali from Argentina has asked for a setlist. Here it is...

V FESTIVAL LIVE BLOG THIS WEEKEND

From KM.com,

We're very pleased to announce that keanemusic.com will be accompanying Keane on their V Festival adventure this weekend. We'll be boarding the bus with the band in London on Saturday, before heading up to Staffordshire for their headline slot on the 4Music stage on Saturday night.

We'll then travel overnight to Chelmsford for the band's second show, on Sunday night. And, all the way, we'll be blogging live, with behind-the-scenes updates, pictures and maybe even the odd video. We very much hope you'll be able to join us for the ride.

Oh, and while we've got your attention, don't forget that you only have one day left to get your questions in for the fans' video interview.

KEANE ASIAN TOUR PICS

Hi guys!!

I apologise for not been updating lately. Work is being hard these days after long holidays due to swine flu.
Anyways, I want to share with you some Keane and Tim pics from the Asian tour (Japan, China, Singapure and South Korea). If you like the pics, leave a comment in the green box of the side bar :)

Enjoy them and have a lovely weekend,

Isaxx

#2 BETH CAM: ASIAN TOUR

From KM.com,

Bethcam #2 - Asian tour from keaneofficial on Vimeo.

Hello from my hotel room in Seoul...

We're literally just back from the show and I have to say, it was probably one of the best I have ever seen. The audience were crazy and even in this heat did not stop jumping around! At one point there were about 1,000 people dancing around the front-of-house area in a big circle and probably everyone there had a Keane banner of some kind in their hands. Very special!

Anyway - here it is. The eagerly awaited Part 2 of BethCam! I know it's taken a while but as I'm sure you will understand, there are never enough hours in the day.

Nevertheless, I hope you enjoy a peak at some "behind the scenes" footage of Keane during their time in Asia. It's been a great tour, the band have made lots of new friends and now we're packing up to come home.

See you soon.

Beth

RICHARD'S PHOTOBLOG

From KM.com,

Richard says: "getting pretty good at the drums - there seems to be no end to his skills!" and I agree with him :D

Tuesday, 11 August 2009

From KM.com,

Hello everyone,We're Andrew and Chris, the duo behind the cult Keane podcast Beyond the Iron Sea. Just in case you've never heard of it (and if so, you may be on the wrong website), we've been offering a regular insight into what the band have been up to, complete with our own unique brand of "jokes", for more than a year now. Tim himself called it "a collection of lies, mis-information and childish humour", which is a fairly compelling endorsement, don't you think? You can subscribe - and download our back catalogue - at http://www.beyondtheironsea.com/.

To celebrate the first anniversary of our Keane-based shenanigans, the band have very kindly invited us to put some of your questions to them for a special km.com fans' video interview. If you've ever been frustrated that the same old questions keep popping up in their interviews, this is your chance to make amends. We're looking for the best and most original questions from you guys - something different from the questions that they always get asked! We'll select our favourites and put them to Tim, Tom and Richard later this month.

If you'd like to be a part of this grand inquisition, send your questions in to us at mailbox@beyondtheironsea.com as soon as possible - the closing date is Wednesday, August 19.

So guys don't forget to send your questions cos the day is coming!! I'm thinking about mine. There are lots of things to ask Tim! :D
